The full change log for the update is not yet available, so it is likely to include some minor changes, bug fixes, and possible improvements to the quality of life.
New 5-star character: Xiao (Anemo, Polearm)
This update brings together a new 5-star character in the form of Xiao. From the details given, we know that Xiao is an Anemo character using a Polearm.
5-star characters are usually meant as ‘premium’ characters, and as a result, Xiao will also receive its own banner that increases the chances of pulling the character through the outer castes.
But since we mention that Genshin Impact is pretty generous for players who play well, it’s good, all players receive 10 free interwoven lots by simply logging into the game in a few days, which they can use on this banner to try luck. to draw this new character. Xiao will share its banner with Keqing, as there are no new 4-star characters in this update.
Free 4-star rating
Although there are no new 4-star characters in this update, Mihoyo is offering all users a free 4-star character through the “Stand by Me” special event.
All players who complete the event can choose one 4-star character from Xiangling, Xinyan, Beidou, Ningguang, Xingqiu and Chongyun. Although no details were presented about the event tasks, we can expect it to be slightly challenging, but still feasible for all players.
Regarding which character you should choose as a reward, we suggest that you first pick up a character that you do not have, to get a recurring character for their Constellation. Xingqiu is a good choice because of his extra talent “Flash of Genius” which gives him a 25% chance to repay one number of material from all used material. Over time, it will be very beneficial if you enlarge the grinders. Alternatively, you can also aim for C4 Xiangling or C1 Ningguang if you have all these characters.
Lantern Rite event
Lantern Rite will be the highlight event of this update, divided into several phases. Completing these phases will give you a specific currency that you can use in the Opportunity Shop to exchange for Character Ascension Fragments, Experience Books, Mora or the Dust of Azoth (new material).
Theater Mechanicus – minigame for tower defense
As part of the Lantern Rite event, we get a new mini-game for tower defense. The trailer suggests that players can manufacture, place and upgrade different towers with different elements and mechanics along a road.
Like tower defense games, hordes of enemies will try to move through the road. Your goal is to stop them from reaching the end of the road. Genshin Impact adds its own twist to this by also letting you gain the field with your own character and helping to erase shock points or just get through faster.
Primo Geovishap – New boss
The Primo Geovishap is a new boss coming to the world of Genshin Impact. This animal appears to be an extremely powerful form of the annoying Geovishap Hatchlings. The addition of the story is the fact that this boss can vary between different elements. We are waiting for more details on the mechanics of the boss, but it definitely changes things about how party lineups will be adjusted depending on which element of the boss you are tackling. The boss will be unlocked through an investigation mission that will also pay out Primogems and Mora.
Increased flooding of Ley Line
Through the new update, Mora and Experience Ley Lines will have a 2x increased drop for the first collection. So you can spend 20 resins and get 2x the usual production on your first collection. This is an important boost for players who grind to increase their characters.
Various changes
These are some of the less exciting changes. There will be a new tab in the Archive section that will show Living Being and their models, as well as how many times you have defeated those enemies so far. The player profile screen also sees a small refresh, allowing you to pick up up to 4 characters that you can show to your friends. With the Alchemy section you can now also transform crystals from one element to another using the Dust of Azoth. It’s not clear how easy or difficult it is to obtain this new material, but it may change the way players tackle annoying bosses. Another event requires you to take pictures of certain things using the camera tool for the game to get Primogems and other rewards. There is also a Parametric Transformer device available that allows you to convert items from one to another.
There is also a small browser mini-game that you can play at the moment to get rewards.
The new update starts on February 3, 2021 and we can expect the events to take place in a staggering way during the month.
