Genesis drone show uses record-breaking 3,281 drones

Hyundai’s luxury vehicle brand Genesis used 3,281 drones to create its logo across Shanghai’s skyline on March 29 to celebrate the brand’s arrival in China. The number of drones sets a new Guinness World Record for “The most unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the air simultaneously”, according to a press release from Genesis.

You can see a picture of the Genesis logo formation at the top of this post. Genesis also made a video showing some extra drone formations, including a hand, two of the company’s cars and … a double helix?

The record of Genesis is better than the previous one that had Shenzhen Damoda Intelligent Control Technology, which used 3051 drones in an exhibition on September 20. Here’s a video of the show that I think’s even more impressive than Genesis’:

Intel also held the record at one point and used 1,218 Shooting Star drones to create the Olympic rings over Pyeongchang for the 2018 Winter Games.
