Gen Z considers skinny jeans out of fashion: what to wear rather

The canceling culture has been coming for millennia, and you want to get skinny in this new-nix fashion trend.

According to Gen Z, skinny jeans are now officially over. The trend has been expressed on TikTok, with videos embracing the pants with a body and that they need to be dramatically removed quickly from all closets.

In this melodramatic and hopefully sarcastic video by user @momohkd, she instructs her 410,000 viewers to throw the pants away, set them on fire or cut up something new. The last option was frugal, right?

Millennials and older are understandable about this sudden transition to more pants, as skinny jeans are an important step for most and are considered the next step to the baggy mom jeans and a super low denim from the 90s.

User @ takingmylifebackat42 used the platform to not only slap back on this drastic cancellation of the jeans, but also to elicit more trends that the younger generation prematurely canceled or claimed to have been created, including the middle hair part, scrunchies and ‘ flared leggings’. which of course is just yoga pants.

That being said, Gen Z might have a point, and it does not hurt to expand our pantry a bit to keep up with the times.

As skinny jeans come together and we spend more time working at home anyway, there are a few looser and cooler options to try, from wide-legged denim to mom-and-dad jeans and everything in between.
