If you want to try NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service without installing the app, you may now be able to use it via your computer’s browser. XDA points out that the release notes for version 2.0.27 of GeForce Now reveal beta support for the Chrome browser on Windows and macOS, but some users report that they are still in older versions. As for other platforms, such as other browsers or Linux, they may “work” but are not currently supported.
If you are a customer in the group that is properly activated, it is just enough to browse the website to get started. NVIDIA also gave way to sharing GeForce Now by simply sending a link to your friends, a new + Hotkey button to place games on your desktop, plus support for Apple’s new M1 powered Macs.
GeForce Now was fully launched almost a year ago and has since added iOS game support via the Safari browser and already supports access via Chrome OS. However, NVIDIA’s approach differs from other services in that users purchase their games through supported stores and retain access to them outside of streaming.
