(GBTC), JP Morgan Chase & Co (NYSE: JPM) – Crypto Market Update, January 6: Bitcoin Rises to $ 36,500, Ethereum Exceeds $ 1,200

Bitcoin: The price of Bitcoin (BTC), a leading digital currency, touched $ 36,574 at 16:30 EST at Bitstamp exchange, according to TradingView data provider.

It set at $ 36,300 levels and traded at $ 36,475 at the time of printing.

This is a new record for BTC, which only broke the $ 35,000 level yesterday. The current bull rally started in December when it reached $ 20,000 on December 16th. The digital currency has risen since then.

The most recent bull prediction was made by JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) strategists, who believe Bitcoin could reach $ 146,000 in the long run, Bloomberg reported.

“The displacement of gold as an ‘alternative’ currency means that Bitcoin has a big boost in the long run,” they wrote in a note on Monday.

But they add that a convergence in volatility between Bitcoin and gold is unlikely to happen quickly and is a multi-year process in our minds, “implying that” the $ 146,000 theoretical Bitcoin price target should be considered a long-term target. , and thus an unsustainable price target for this year. ”

Ethereum: Ethereum (ETH), the second leading market capitalization cryptocurrency, also known as an altcoin, has had a positive run since December 24, when it traded at $ 572.

The price of Ethereum exceeded the $ 1,200 level at 12.54 EST and then dropped to $ 1,129. It was trading at $ 1,182 at press time.

The cryptocurrency reached its highest point in January 2018 at $ 1,432.
