GameStop, BlackBerry, Modern: what to look for when the stock market opens today

Here’s what we’re looking for before Monday’s opening clock.

US equities futures have generally changed little, although technology stocks have cost more before a return week in earnings, with investors awaiting results from companies such as Apple, Tesla and Facebook.

Futures linked to the S&P 500 rose by less than 0.1%, while contracts linked to the Nasdaq-100 rose by 0.9%.

Earnings are due of Steel Dynamics and Hexcel after the close.

The World Economic Forum hold a virtual summit this week. Chinese President Xi Jinping’s speech at 7 a.m. ET highlights today’s agenda. Monday’s panels include European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde on recovering economic growth at 11am, and the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey’s government on digital currencies at 12pm.
