‘Game Of Thrones’ at 10: HBO draws up month-long Iron Memorial plans

HBO has announced the launch of The Iron Anniversary, a month-long celebration to mark the 10th anniversary of the premiere of ‘Game of Thrones’.

Included in the celebration is an interactive “Game of Thrones” spotlight page on HBO Max (now available), as well as a “Game of Thrones” “MaraThrone” from all episodes of season 1. In addition, Warner Bros. Consumer Products is releasing a new range, including a unique Imperial egg from FabergĂ©, a range of Mikkeller beers inspired by the range and a range of Funko Pop figures in iron texture.

The spotlight page “Game of Thrones” on the WarnerMedia streamer contains a broad introduction to the world and characters for new viewers, as well as spoiler-laden curatorships with Easter eggs for die-hard fans. Subscribers will also be able to send more than 150 videos of cast interviews, behind-the-scenes extras, tracks and trailers.

The “Game of Thrones” MaraThrone airs season 10 on April 10 and begins at 10:00 on HBO2. But with all episodes of HBO Max, fans will be encouraged to supplement different episodes of the series separately to raise money for philanthropic causes. For two weeks, members of the cast from the Emmy-winning drama series will highlight these causes, which include Women for Women International, World Central Kitchen, Conservation International, International Rescue Committee (IRC), UNICEF, FilmAid International, SameYou, Royal Mencap Society, National Urban League and The Trevor Project.

‘Game of Thrones’ may have come to an end in 2020, but its franchise will live on for a long time to come. For example, the upcoming prequel series “House of the Dragon” will begin production this year. The prelude is a few hundred years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ and tells the story of House Targaryen and the civil war in Targaryen which became known as the ‘Dance of the Dragons’. The series received an order for ten deliveries with a view to a debut in 2022.

“House of the Dragon” is just one of several Game of Thrones TV projects currently in the works. Variety exclusively reported that a “Tales of Dunk and Egg” series is in early development at HBO, while aa animated Game of Thrones project is underway at HBO Max.
