People in Galveston County began receiving urgent messages Friday morning to warn them of important, but good, news.
The province’s waiting list for COVID-19 vaccinations is now open to all people, regardless of their age or health status – and health officials want you to sign up now.
Technically, the waiting list has been open to everyone since it was created in February. But officials preferred to get qualified people, including people over the age of 65 or with pre-existing health conditions, on the list.
Signing up for the waiting list does not necessarily mean that people will be vaccinated sooner, officials said. But efforts are being made to ensure that qualified people are reached and in anticipation of state and federal officials who will open vaccinations for more people in the coming weeks.
