Galaxy S21 Ultra triumphs with a very close victory in our comparison for blind camera

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is the latest and greatest phone coming from Samsung’s conveyor belt. We compared all the main and selfie cameras with the respectable Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Google Pixel 5. You can see the comparisons below to take a look for yourself, but the consensus is that the Galaxy S21 Ultra is a welcome improvement over last year’s Galaxy S20 range and very good compared to its leading competitors.

But what do you take from the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s camera prowess? Can you detect which of the photos below were taken on Samsung’s new pride and glory? We took some pictures with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra, Pixel 5, en iPhone 12 Pro Max in a variety of lighting scenarios. All the photos in the galleries can be zoomed in and inspected according to your need, but rest assured that there is no EXIF data, so playing dirty will make you no profit here.

Scene 1: Playground

It looks like the iPhone won our hearts in our first scene and left the best of Android behind.

Scene 2: 3X zoom

In terms of zooming, the Galaxy S21 Ultra shatters the competition and wins with an overwhelming voice.

Scene 3: Rainbow Girl

This one is a thing between the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Pixel 5. And rightly so, because both photos look good!

Scene 4: Sunset

This beautiful sunset scene goes to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but the rest of the phones did an amazing job and share the remaining voices fairly evenly.

Scene 5: Storefront

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra did a commendable job in this particular scene, beating the iPhone, Pixel and Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Scene 6: Toys

I was sure the Pixel 5 would win this one because it took an excellent photo. There is no way to know it, but it also got the colors just right, unlike its competitors. Good job, people.

Scene 7: Night Mode # 1

Surprising to me, the Note 20 Ultra gets this round overwhelmingly. Personally, my preferences are in favor of Galaxy S21 Ultra, but vox populi, vox dei.

Scene 8: Night Mode # 2

Android’s best steals this round from the iPhone, and it seems like you like the Galaxy S21 Ultra the most in this particular scenario. Personally, I would go with the Pixel 5, but both photos are excellent.

Scene 9: Night Mode # 3

If the scene is better lit and there are numerous artificial lights involved, the iPhone does a much, much better job. This seems to be the general consensus here.

Scene 10: Selfie

Despite people taking more realistic selfies, the iPhone’s slightly warmer and more vibrant auto-portraits win the popular voice.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max – 23.3%The new Galaxy S21 Ultra achieves a very good victory, but it is noteworthy that all voices are fairly equal and evenly distributed among the phones we tested in this blind comparison. There is a fairly logical reason: all phones we have tested have excellent cameras and are unlikely to disappoint you. Of course, as the results show, most people are more attractive in specific situations, but overall, any of these devices would be an admirable photograph.
