Samsung’s Galaxy S21, the follow-up to last year Galaxy S20 flagship, is almost here. On January 14, Samsung presents a virtual host Milky Way unpacked event on the last day of CES (here’s how to watch live), where the latest Galaxy S smartphone is expected to be launched, about a month earlier than last year’s announcement. Rumors are circulating for months now about the new device, powered by lick a lot. Will the Galaxy S21 come with a stylus?? Is it going to have a sleek new design? Will it replace the Galaxy Note line?
And the perennial question: will it include a headphone jack? All we can say now is probably not. But if we’ve learned anything since then Samsung has released its latest Galaxy S flagship (same day the new coronavirus was officially named COVID-19), that is, anything is possible.

Leaked teasers for the Galaxy S21 shows a design similar to the S20 series, with an on-screen fingerprint reader and a centered hole-in-front camera. But one thing you will not see in the leaked images is a headphone jack that says it’s probably not in the S21 card. More recent leaks showing Samsung’s specifications for all three models of the S21 is also not included the mention of a headphone jack.
There has some have been unfounded suspicion about Samsung that the headphone jack is being reset as a kind of experiment in 2021. The idea here is that a headphone jack might be enough to differentiate the Galaxy flagship from other premium phones from Apple and Google, which also forced users to wireless earplug or dongle lifestyle in recent years.
This is an interesting theory, especially if you remember Samsung’s initial reaction to Apple’s original removal of the headphone jack from the 2016 device, the iPhone 7. Apple’s move made a breakthrough in Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7- the same year. introduction. And ads for the Galaxy Note 8 have gone a step further, mocks the iPhone’s troublesome dongle setup. But the tide has changed and, when Samsung launches its Galaxy Note 10 in 2019, it also left the headphone jack on the cutting room floor. Last year’s Galaxy S20 also did not have a headphone jack, the first of the Galaxy S line that it nix.

History can repeat itself with the Galaxy S21. When Apple decided not to include a charger or earphone with its iPhone 12 in the box, Samsung also mocked the decision. But now rumors suggest Samsung may follow suit. A leak from tipster Evan Blass shows a “what’s in the box” page from Samsung which contains only a USB-C cable (sans charging brick), ejector pin and a quick start guide, with reference to environmental reasons. And locking a headphone in the box is further proof that it does not include a matching headphone jack.
One reason telephone manufacturers like to lose the jack: thinner edges. Thin is inside, and a smaller edge footprint allows for a larger screen without contributing to the overall size of the phone.
The alleged Galaxy Buds Pro.

Another, perhaps more cynical reason: the company’s wireless earbuds should sell better if the phone does not have a wired headphone jack. Apple’s AirPods went like gangbusters, probably thanks to a small part of the iPhone’s cut-out connector. And Samsung has its own range of wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Buds Plus and Galaxy Buds Live, with an equally productive rumor mill that predicts the Galaxy Buds Pro. It would therefore make sense if Samsung sticks to its decision to offer the headphone jack. Plus, if the latest leaked promotional chips are accurate, Samsung may be offering some wireless earbuds along with the S21 as a pre-order bonus, although it is not clear if this offer will be available in the US.
We expect to receive our response on January 14 Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked Event, but in the meantime, here is everything we have heard so far about the Galaxy S21.
