Galaxy A, Galaxy M series launches Android 11 update

So far, Samsung has done a very good job of implementing Android 11 to its range of Galaxy smartphones and tablets, but there is still some work to be done. Over the past week, Samsung has also expanded Android 11 to include more Galaxy A and Galaxy M series devices.

If we look at the popular Galaxy A series, Samsung brings Android 11 to the Galaxy A51 5G and A71 5G. These 5G-equipped devices are one of the first Galaxy A devices to get a stable Android 11 / One UI 3.0 update, and it comes well ahead of schedule. Previously, Samsung’s own roadmap estimated a May 2021 release for this update.

In India, Samsung is also pushing stable Android 11 updates on two M-Series devices, specifically the M30s. The Galaxy M31s are also getting the update in Russia and Ukraine. Like the people at XDA captured, the update weighs only 2GB, but the rest of the devices mentioned here will probably get the same size. Android Police also points out that the change book mentions the removal of Google Cast support on Samsung’s screen mirroring software.

Samsung still has a long list of phones and tablets to bring to Android 11, especially at the bottom of the spectrum. Most of the more affordable Galaxy smartphones do not yet have Android 11, but it’s nice to see Samsung so ahead of schedule in two of its most popular ranges.
