Gabe Newell says Valve has several games in development and ‘wants to do more singles’

Valve Corporation “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/companies/valve/ “> Gabe Newell, co-founder and CEO of Valve,” href = “https://www.videogameschronicle.com/people/gabe- newell / “> Gabe Newell has confirmed that the Half-Life firm has several games in development and would like to have more single player experiences.

Newell, who has been living and working in New Zealand since early 2020, suggested that the American company got excited in Washington about his experience with the production of the VR title Half-Life Alyx, which was released last March.

“We definitely have games in development that we’re going to announce – it’s fun to send games,” he told 1 NEWS.

“Alyx was great – to do single-player games again, which created a lot of momentum in the company to do more of it.”

However, Newell refused to be used on the topic of new Half-Life and Portal games when asked about possible sequels.

“I haven’t talked about these things successfully for a long time, and I hope to continue not talking about them until there are a lot of questions,” he said. “Then we move on to a new set of questions.

“The good thing is that I do not answer the questions, and that I avoid the community getting new questions that are equally difficult to answer.”

Half-Life Alyx was released in March 2020

Alyx, the first Half-Life game for almost 13 years, has been released exclusively for PC “href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/platforms/pc/ “> PC-based VR hardware.

VGC’s Half-Life: Alyx review calls the shooter “a great return for Half-Life and an essential VR purchase – if you have the necessary equipment and space.”

Newell originally traveled to New Zealand for a ten-day family holiday in March, but decided to stay when the country announced it was closing its borders due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He told 1 NEWS that he has now in principle received the New Zealand right of residence and that he intends to stay in the country for the foreseeable future.

He also said a number of his colleagues were interested in moving to New Zealand. “There’s a lot of ground-level interest in the business to attract people.”
