Former U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii has warned that House President Nancy Pelosi, D-California, is essentially playing with fire with her recent remarks about ‘enemy is inside’.
Pelosi told reporters she thinks Congress will have to provide money “for more security for members, when the enemy is inside the House of Representatives, a threat that members are concerned about.”
The remarks were in response to the January 6 riots and subsequent security measures to protect lawmakers.
Asked to clarify what she meant, Pelosi said: “This means we have members of Congress who want to bring guns to the floor and have threatened violence against other members of Congress.”

During an appearance on Friday night in Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle”, Gabbard – a Democrat who decided not to run for House again when she was elected president in 2020 – said it was incredibly dangerous for Pelosi to like that when the land is “on the edge” and divided.
“This kind of broad, inflammatory rhetoric is like throwing a match in the bin,” she said.
“What Speaker Pelosi is talking about is a very serious matter. If there is evidence of what it says, it is true, it is a legitimate issue for law enforcement.”
According to Gabbard, an individual repeatedly threatened her life while she was in the home, and law enforcement officers summarily charged the suspect and found him guilty.

“What Nancy Pelosi is talking about is a crime that threatens terrorism – and if it is true, it should be reported to law enforcement. Members of Congress are not above the law,” she said.
Host Laura Ingraham asked Gabbard if Pelosi was intentionally inciting.
“If you think there is someone among the Republican caucus who is planning the assassination of Nancy Pelosi or other members of Congress, it could bring violence against those individuals,” she said.
“That’s the issue here. If it’s a [criminal threat], let law enforcement handle it, “Gabbard replied. If there is no evidence that she is talking about, it is inciting further divisions and further harming the possibility that our country will come together. “
