Future father in New York dies after device intended for sex revelations explodes party

Police responded to an explosion just before noon Sunday. Christopher Pekny, of Liberty, New York, was building the device that exploded. According to police, he was the future father.

Pekny’s 27-year-old brother, Michael Pekny, was injured and taken to a nearby hospital, state police said.

Police did not provide further information on what type of device it was, other than that it was not intended to harm others.

Earlier this month, a man from Michigan died after a small cannon exploded at a baby shower, police said. Although the cannon is not directly related to the sex of the baby, it was fired to celebrate the baby for its arrival, Michigan police said in a statement.
This recent death follows in the line of other gender statements that have gone bad, including a wildfire in 2020 in Southern California and a plane crash in Texas.
After last year’s wildfire, blogger Jenna Karvunidis – who is largely attributed to the founding of a gender public party – went to Facebook to condemn everyday events.

“Stop having these stupid parties. Stop burning down things for the love of God to tell everyone about the child’s penis. No one cares but you,” she wrote.
