Fujifilm has announced the X-E4, which it describes as the most compact interchangeable lens camera in its X-Series. At 121.3 mm x 72.9 mm x 32.7 mm, it is more than an inch thinner than its predecessor, the 2017 X-E3.
The XE series is available in the Fujifilm series as an option for enthusiastic photographers who prefer a rangefinder-style design over DSLR-like cameras such as the X-T4, but do not need the X-Pro3 optical viewfinder . Alternatively, it can be considered as an EVF version of the X100V with an interchangeable lens.
Like the X100V, it features a 26.1-megapixel X-Trans sensor, dedicated shutter buttons for shutter speed and exposure compensation, and a new tilt screen that sits flush against the body. The shutter switch now also has a “P” setting for a fully automatic program mode. The grip on the front of the X-E3 has been completely removed.

For video, the X-E4 can sample 4K / 30fps 4: 2: 0 8K bit-bit video and store it on internal media, or output 4K / 30fps 4: 2: 2 10-bit video over its HDMI port. It can also have 1080p footage at 240 fps.
The X-E4 will be released in March for $ 849.95 in black and silver only. There’s also a $ 1,049.95 kit that includes a new version of Fujifilm’s 27mm f / 2.8 pancake lens (pictured above); Unlike its predecessor, this is weatherproof and has a diaphragm ring. It will be available separately in March for $ 399.95, as well as a new $ 799.99 70-300mm f / 4-5.6 zoom lens.
