Fujifilm announces new medium format camera and ultra-fast lens

Today, Fujifilm announced a medium-average camera and an ultra-fast portrait lens for its popular GF platform.

The GFX 100S removes the 102 megapixel sensor from the GFX 100 and places it in a smaller bowl, reducing the price by almost half. The most important specifications include:

  • 102-megapixel 43.8 x 32.9mm BSI CMOS sensor
  • 16-bit style photos
  • ISO range from 100-12,800, extensible to 50-102,400
  • Continuous burst speed of 5 fps
  • 4K video at 30 fps to 4: 2: 0 10-bit internal or 4: 2: 2 10-bit via HDMI
  • 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization
  • Magnesium alloy body
  • OLED viewfinder of 3.69 million dots with a magnification of 0.77x
  • 2.36 million dots, 3.2 inch touch screen
  • Battery life of 460 shots
  • Dual UHS-II SD card slot
  • 1.8-inch LCD top screen
  • 425-dot hybrid autofocus system covering almost the entire frame
  • Movie Simulation Modes
