Frustration develops among Pennsylvania residents trying to find COVID-19 vaccine

EXTON, Pennsylvania (WPVI) – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Tuesday unveiled the vaccine vaccine, aimed at helping people understand where they stand in the priority line. However, some Pennsylvania residents claim that the problem cannot find a vaccine.

‘I first tried the number they give you. It’s lazy and lazy, ” says Gigi Lewis, of West Oak Lane. “It replied and then it clicked. Then I said, ‘Okay, we’m going online.’ “(I) filled out the form online and I was told I would be on the waiting list, someone would come back to me. Never heard of anyone, it was a month ago.”

Thousands of Pennsylvaniaers have joined a Facebook group called PA COVID Vaccine Match Maker, where members hand out advice on how to vaccinate Phase 1A individuals.

Christine Meyer, Exton’s internal medicine doctor, founded the Facebook group, saying her office received thousands of emails and hundreds of phone calls from people pleading for the vaccine.

“There’s a treatment. What they’re asking for exists, and it’s amazing, and it’s life-saving, and it’s being produced and in areas outside ours it’s not that difficult,” she said.

Meyer said the members help each other find vaccines and hand out information, such as when pharmacies have appointments.

“This is an area where people just post their tips and tricks for success,” Meyer said.

Philadelphia Health Commissioner Thomas Farley said Tuesday it was going better.

“This week we are receiving 10,700 doses of Pfizer vaccine and the allocation of Moderna vaccine is 14,400, up from a little over 10,000 previously,” Farley said.

Farley said the city of Philadelphia does not want to create a stadium facility vaccination site because residents of Delaware and New Jersey will utilize the site. In the past, Mayor Jim Kenney said a drive-in vaccination site restricts residents who do not have cars.

The federal government also gave Pennsylvania more than $ 1.6 million to create mass vaccination sites.
