A Bahamas hotel chain hopes to lure American travelers with a bizarre offer: Catch Covid-19 and stay free.
Baha Mar guests can quickly do a Covid-19 test and if one of the swimmers is positive again, they will have the choice of a free private jet house or a free 14-day quarantine in a suit with ‘ a daily eating credit of $ 150.
“It is our hope that through this program our guests will feel confident when booking a stay with us, as well as appreciated and supported by the Baha Mar family should any problems arise during their trip,” he said. the hotel chain said about its “Travel with Confidence” initiative.
The program was launched three weeks ago and is still in operation, a company representative said Friday.
It was not clear on Friday whether any recent guests of the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, SLS Baha Mar or Rosewood Baha Mar were forced to use the luxury Covid-19 for free.
“In this ever-changing travel environment, it is our goal to alleviate the concerns of travelers around Covid-19 in an effort to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our guests,” Baha Mar said in a statement.
“Our ‘Travel with Confidence’ program is the first of its kind in the industry, offering travelers extra peace of mind and the option to return home safely, or quarantine at no extra cost – the choice is theirs.”
The pressure to attract Americans is far from the spring of 2020 when citizens of the United States, with more Covid-19 deaths than any nation in the world, had relatively few travel options. But Bermuda has been a fixed option for Americans seeking a breakaway since July 1.
