A fraudster claiming to be working for the UK National Health Service has injected a 92-year-old woman with a fake COVID-19 vaccine, which cost her about $ 218, according to a new report.
The fraudster arrived at the door of the non-farmer in Surbiton, south-west London, on December 30, claiming he was from the NHS and was there to administer the vaccine, Metro UK reported.
The unsuspecting senior let him in, and then he hit her in the arm with an ‘arrow-like tool,’ ‘police said, according to the report.
He allegedly asked for her 160 British pounds – about $ 218, for the fake vaccine, which he said would be repaid by the NHS.
The City of London Police said at the point of sale it was unclear what substance, if any, was being administered but the woman, who had been dropped off at a local hospital, did not appear to be ill.
“This is a disgusting and totally unacceptable assault on a member of the public that will not be tolerated,” Detective Inspector Kevin Ives told Metro. ‘We appeal to anyone who has information that can help us identify this man, to make contact. It is crucial that we catch him as soon as possible, because he not only cheats individuals with money, but can also endanger people’s lives. ”
The suspect reportedly returned to the woman’s home on Monday and asked for another £ 100, about $ 136.
In the images of the day, there is a dark blue tracksuit with white stripes on the side.
Police say the man, who speaks with a London accent, was in his early 30s, about 5 feet 9 with a medium build and combed back light brown hair.
