Frankfort couple hit big in the Kentucky Lottery on their 30th anniversary

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) – A Frankfort couple hit it off in the Kentucky Lottery with their 30th wedding anniversary.

The couple want to remain anonymous, but the man told lottery officials he does not play Cash Ball 225 very often, but went to East Wood Shell on Versailles Road in Frankfort to play his Pick 3 and Pick 4 numbers when he decided to ‘ a Cash Ball 225 ticket for the March 9 draw.

The next morning, he pulls up the winning numbers on his phone using the lottery app to check his tickets. He checked his Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets, but won nothing in them.

“I was like, oh wait, I have a cash card to check,” he said. ‘I always look at the Cash Ball number first and sure enough. I look at the other number, I fit and then the other number, I fit and then the other number I fit. “I blink my eyes and look at the last number and realize I have all the numbers,” he told lottery officials. “I sank into the chair,” he said.

He went to show his wife when he told her to get her glasses.

“I think I’m dreaming,” he told her.

She looked at the ticket and sure enough he matched all the numbers.

“We are tickled to death,” his wife said.

He told lottery officials that they both went to work that day.

“It was definitely not a normal workday,” he said.

He drives to Louisville on Thursday to the lottery headquarters where he receives a check after tax for $ 159,751.42.

The couple said they rent a house their entire married life and are going to look into buying a house.
