Four-province area is above 6,000 deaths COVID-19; winter weather changes vaccination and testing schedules

Dallas County reported 1,231 new cases of coronavirus and 37 deaths from COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the quartet of Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant County added 81 deaths on Wednesday, bringing their combined toll to 6,000 – or 6,056.

Across the state, 12,941 more cases were reported, including 12,168 new cases and 773 older cases recently reported by laboratories.

The state also reported 385 COVID-19 deaths, which increased its toll to 39,386.

Tarrant County reported 1,311 cases of coronavirus and 20 deaths on Wednesday.

The latest victims include 11 men and nine women who ranged in age from 40 to older than 90. Six victims lived in Fort Worth, four were from Arlington, two each live in Mansfield and White Settlement and one was each from Azle, Benbrook. , Everman, Hurst, North Richland Hills and Southlake.
