Fortnite’s just £ 10 subscriber price for £ 10 is a new version of a fan favorite • Eurogamer.net

Following the promise to improve the offer within its expensive Fortnite Crew subscription of £ 9.99 per month, Epic Games has now announced a striking new skin for February and wrapped it up in the game’s ongoing gameplay.

February’s only character is Vi, a member of the Fox Clan – Fortnite’s new name for his various Kitsune masked characters such as OG’s season five mascot and fan favorite Drift.

Vi’s set contains the usual character skin, rugbling and pickaxe, now all with two detailed styles. There is also a cover (a coat of arms) and a loading screen – new items not included in previous monthly offers.

Vi’s revelation was teased yesterday afternoon via a number of strange posts on social media and a fierce takeover of the game’s official Twitter – which was later deleted from existence (again all part of the game’s story).

“Possible match found ///// Drift? Drift. Come in. Are you reading me?” Fortnite’s Twitter posted a series of messages yesterday. “I know you do not know who I am, but the Fox Clan is in trouble. We need you. We always thought we were the trackers, but something is following the US now. Something old. Something. bad.

“They all got it. I barely escaped. I’m … I’m the only one left. Whoever gave you that Fox Clan mask made you a target … If we did not cooperate – team up – they’ll come for you next time. They’re closing. I have to wipe my tracks, but I hope you got this broadcast. If you did, I’ll see you soon. I hope . /// Connection ended. “

Previous narratives posted on the Fortnite account come from the in-game character of Jonesy, who works for the IO Agency. But a subsequent remark by IO suggested that it was not the sender or said mysterious evil. “If more updates are received about this mysterious Fox Clan, we will continue to post and investigate,” reads another message that has now been removed.

During the takeover of the Twitter account, its background was temporarily changed to this image that Vi shows with former Fox Clan members Drift and Catalyst. The location here looks a lot like Lucky Landing from the old map of Fortnite – which according to some fans will be the last time this season:

Of course, all this serves to sell Fortnite’s £ 9.99 subscription for another month. Two weeks ago, developer Epic Games admitted that it needed to do more work to ‘make your subscription an even better experience’ after a lukewarm reception from Green Arrow.

The mere suggestion that a new Drift-like skin would be released was enough to pique many fans of the character (Fortnite also has a beachwear version of the character called Summer Drift and recently Snow Drift, an icy variant) exempt. Pack a few extra items, whether or not you’re worth the asking price, it’s definitely a more enticing offer.

At the end of another long season, it felt like the February offer had to be better to sign up members. March will meanwhile be much easier to sell, as it will bring a new season from which the battle pass for Fortnite Crew membership will be unlocked for all.
