‘Fortnite’ kicks off its new season with a unique solo mission

Fortnite players are used to becoming massive season-ending events that bring together hordes of players to see an epic set piece. But this time, developer Epic Games is changing things. Instead of a multiplayer spectacle, it begins its new season with a solo mission that puts you in control of Agent Jones.

In a blog post, Epic describes the story mode as an “explosive” event that concludes Jonesy’s mission in the Zero Crisis Final. You can go through it when Chapter 2 Season 6 begins on March 16, or watch it online in movie form during a worldwide premiere at a later date.

Fortnite ‘‘s previous season kicked off in December after a record-breaking event in which Jonesy and a slew of Marvel superheroes teamed up against a planet-destroying villain, Galactus. Season 5 somehow managed to sharpen the movie and gameplay commitments, with a full list of playable characters, including The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, the Terminator, street fighter‘s Ryu and Chun-Li and Ripley and the Xenomorph Queen from the Alien movie series. On top of that, Epic promises its most “ambitious film story” yet.
