GRAFTON, Wis. A former Wisconsin hospital worker was arrested Thursday afternoon after he told authorities he intentionally removed COViD-19 vaccines from the refrigerator at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

The Grafton police station announced the arrest in a news release, but did not provide the name of the pharmacist arrested. He is currently being held at Ozaukee County Jail and is facing charges of recklessly endangering safety, changing a prescription drug and criminal property damage. According to the release, the pharmacist is a resident of Grafton.

Last week, a former employee of Advocate Aurora Health in Grafton deliberately removed 57 vials of the Moderna vaccine from the refrigerator and spoiled more than 500 doses of the vaccine.

The president of Aurora Health Care Medical Group said Thursday that 57 people had received one of spoiled vaccines. The president also said there is no harm to health in getting a spoiled vaccine.

Police say the value of the spoiled vaccines is about $ 8,000 to $ 11,000.

No motive is known as to why the pharmacist did so.
