Former Stadia boss Jade Raymond makes new game for PlayStation

Jade Raymond is already making moves after leaving her post at Stadia. The former EA and Ubisoft maker is opening a studio called Haven, which is working on an unannounced, original PlayStation game.

Google has announced in Feburary that it will close its internal Stadia game studios and that Raymond will leave the company. Raymond was appointed in 2019 to lead Stadia Games and Entertainment.

The previous Assassin’s Creed and Watchdogs producer announced her next move on the PlayStation Blog. She brings together ‘many of the talented game developers I’ve worked with for years’ at Haven Studios, an independent studio located in Montreal.

“We want to create worlds where players can escape, have fun, express themselves and find a community,” she wrote. “We want to pour our passion into a project. We want to make something amazing for people to experience. Because we believe in the power of games to give people’s lives joy. And so does Sony. Their commitment to excellence is unmatched. “That’s why I could not be happier for their support and support.”

Raymond dug up a non-subtle after Google in her post. “It’s time for us to focus on GAMES again in a place where we can practice our craft without any obstacles or barriers,” she wrote.
