Former President Donald Trump delivers speech at CPAC 2021

Former President Donald Trump has teased a possible 2024 run and toppled the Biden government on Sunday during the Conservative political action conference as he delivered his first public speech since leaving the White House less than six weeks ago.

Trump was greeted with a standing ovation as he entered the stage in Orlando to declare that ‘our movement … is just beginning’.

“I stand before you today to declare that the incredible journey we began together four years ago is far from over,” Trump told the enthusiastic crowd.

“Our movement of proud hard-working American patriots is just underway,” he said. “And in the end we will win!”

While making it clear that he intends to remain a force in the Republican Party, Trump hinted at a possible presidency in 2024.

Referring to Democrats, he said, “I might even decide to hit them a third time,” and shouted deafening cheers at the contestants.

Trump has expressed rumors that he was planning to start a new political party as ‘fake news’.

“We have the Republican Party,” Trump said. “It’s going to be united and stronger than ever before.”

“We are not starting new parties. You know, they kept saying, ‘He’s going to start a brand new party. We have the Republican Party, it’s going to unite and be stronger than ever before. I’m not starting a new party. It was fake news. False news. No. Wouldn’t that be brilliant? Let’s start a new party and let’s split our vote so you can never win. No, we are not interested in that. ”

He also hit his successor, claiming that President Biden had the “most disastrous first month as any president in modern history.”

“We all knew that Biden’s government would be bad, but nobody knew how bad they would be,” Trump said.

“There is no better example than the new and horrific crisis on our southern border,” he continued. “In just one short month, we went from America to America for the last time.”

Trump has argued that the Biden Democrats’ immigration policy will cost the next two federal elections.

“We are one country. “We can not afford the problems of the world,” he said. ‘As much as we want – we like to help. We can not do that. So they all come because of promises and foolish words. ”

The former president also called for the country’s schools to be reopened, claiming that Biden had ‘sold American students to teachers’ unions’.

“Joe Biden has shamefully betrayed America’s youth, and he keeps our children cruelly locked up in their homes, no reason for that, they want to get out,” Trump said.

“They are deceiving the next generation of Americans out of the future they deserve, and they deserve this future,” he continued. “They are going to grow up and have a scar … the mental and physical health of these young people is reaching a breaking point.”

“On behalf of the moms, dads and kids of America, I call on Joe Biden to open the schools and get them open now,” Trump said to applause.

He also mentions the work of his administration to get a coronavirus vaccine ready and says, “Never let them get the honor, they just follow our plan.”

Trump has condemned the Biden government over allegations that it ‘started from scratch’ to develop a national vaccine distribution plan because the former president left them with nothing.

“Biden said we did not have the vaccine. “Now, I really think he said that because he did not know what the hell was going on,” Trump said.

Trump returns to the national spotlight to fight the four-day annual conference in Orlando as Republicans hope to regain majorities in the House and Senate in the 2022 midterm elections and win the White House in 2024.

In the wake of Trump’s eagerly anticipated remarks, a march of potential Republican presidents has hopefuls – including sense. Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz – served as opening acts over the weekend to fire up the CPAC crowd for the one-time commander-in-chief.

Since Trump left office on Jan. 20, he has been in his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, meeting with former campaign officials and Republican lawmakers as he lays the groundwork for a political return for himself and the GOP.
