Former Notre Dame star NFL lineman reported missing, mother believes he is in danger

The former NFL defender and standout from Notre Dame, Louis Nix, has reportedly been missing since Tuesday.

According to Ben Becker of ActionNewsJax.com, Nix, a third pick by the Houston Texans in 2014, went missing in Florida, saying Nix’s mother had not heard from her son for several days.

“The last communication from anyone who saw him was Tuesday,” Nix’s mother said. “Can’t call him because voicemail is full and people he talks to daily have not heard from him. Not like him. ‘

Nix’s mother believes her son is in danger. On Saturday, Becker tweeted that she has no new information on where she is.

Nix, a three-year starter for the Fighting Irish, was shot in December while putting air in the car tires. Nix said at the time that the bullet hit his sternum and entered his lung, which was then removed during the operation.

Nix was eventually claimed by the New York Giants after his brief stint with the Texans and joined the training teams of the then Washington Redskins and Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016. Nix had a handful of knee surgeries, which eventually put an end to his NFL career.

If anyone has information on where Nix is, his mother begs people to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff at (904) 630-0500.
