Former Mossad agent allegedly involved in Jordan’s coup report

Former Mossad agent Roi Shpushnik was allegedly involved in the coup attempt in Jordan, according to reports in Jordan quoted by Maariv, the Jerusalem Post‘s sister publication. According to reports, the former Israeli agent offered former heir Prince Hamza a plane to escape from the kingdom. Earlier on Sunday, Jordan’s deputy prime minister Ayman Safadi said Prince Hamza had liaised with foreign parties over a plot to destabilize the country. On Saturday, the military said it had issued a warning to the prince about actions aimed at “security and stability” in the main US ally. Prince Hamza later said he was under house arrest. Several high profiles were also detained.

“The investigations monitored interference and communication with foreign parties at the right time to destabilize Jordan,” Safadi said.

It includes a foreign intelligence agency that contacts Prince Hamza’s wife to arrange a plane for the couple to leave Jordan, he said.
