Former Michigan QB Joe Milton selects Tennessee, sources say; has been in the college football transfer portal since February

Former Michigan quarterback Joe Milton plans to move to Tennessee, sources told ESPN yesterday.

Milton entered the transfer portal in February and is expected to graduate in May, which would enable him to play for the Vols this season.

The Vols are looking for a starting quarterback as they move on to the first offense of Josh Heupel, the first-year coach. Milton was an appetizer for Michigan in 2020. In five starts, he passed for 1,777 yards with four tackles and four interceptions, but was replaced a year ago in Michigan’s last game.

The 6-foot 5, 243-pound Milton has three more years to go, and is listed as an active student in the Tennessee Student Guide. He is on course to begin his academic studies in Tennessee with the summer semester.

Volquest.com was the first to report Milton’s impending transfer to Tennessee.
