Former California Democrat mayor arrested for sexually assaulting minors

A former California mayor was arrested Saturday morning on six charges, including suspicious sex with a 14- or 15-year-old child.

Sebastopol police chief Kevin Kilgore said on March 30, police received information of alleged sexual assaults committed by former mayor Robert Jacob in the city between December 2019 and March 2021.

“Currently, an investigation is underway for a determination of the number of victims,” ​​Kilgore was quoted as saying by the Press Democrat.

Jacob, 44, is being held without bail at Sonoma County Adult Conservation Center because he is suspected of five crimes and one misdemeanor.
