Ford returns to ram on Twitter with nice burn

During the teaser campaign for the Ford F-150 Raptor in 2021, Ram took advantage of the hype to challenge the Blue Oval to turn a hood on the new performance truck and compare it to the TRX. Now a Ford spokesman has a version that mocks how Ram promotes the TRX.

Mike Levine is the manager of Ford Product Communications. He noted that the location of a Ram TRX promotional film was the same as for the newly launched Nissan Pathfinder.

Overall it would be good. Car manufacturers film their promotional material in the same space all the time. Ram’s message to go along with the clip, however, is the issue. It says, “Some are content to just go to the edge. We will continue to overtake it.” As Levine notes, the TRX does not really push along the edge as a Pathfinder also has no problem getting there.

Although this kind of back and forth between Ford and Ram on social media has nothing to do with the actual products, it shows how closely the companies are watching each other. They compete for the same buyer segment and are looking for any possible competitive advantage.

Ford is not yet talking about the new Raptor production, but it’s probably at least the 450 horsepower (336 kilowatts) of the previous generation, though it’s no longer due to changes like the new exhaust. The figure is unlikely to be close to the TRX’s 702 hp (524 kW).

The more powerful Raptor R arrives next year with V8 power. Rumor has it that the power source is the V8-powered V8-liter of the Mustang Shelby GT500, which will be a 760 hp (567 kW) Raptor hood.
