Ford will delay the delivery of hundreds of its Mustang Mach-E vehicles to perform quality checks, Electrek report. The carmaker began delivering the Mach-E SUV in December, but some buyers reported that their upcoming delivery dates were in some cases pushed back by as long as a month, according to Electrek.
The Mustang Mach-E sport utility vehicle is Ford’s first update of the iconic Mustang brand ever, and the biggest incident on the EV market.
Ford did not immediately return a request for comment The edge Saturday, but a spokesman said Electrek it did an additional quality check on several hundred SUVs built before dealerships began shipping in December, “to ensure it meets the quality our customers expect and deserve.”
Ford did not say what the new quality control specifically gave rise to, but the company said Ford Authority blog that work has been done to expedite the delivery of the Mustang Mach-E, “and we hope customers receive it before the set dates, provided there are no COVID-19 related transportation delays.”
