Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F), Tesla Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) – Ford launches Mustang Mach-E deliveries at competitive, 300-mile range

One of the most anticipated electric vehicles came on the market at the end of 2020 and could be a positive catalyst for a heritage manufacturer in the new year.

What happened: The first Ford Mustang Mach-E delivery in 2021 took place in Dallas, Texas, according to InsideEVs on Tuesday.

The car of Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) is manufactured in Mexico, so Texas was not a surprising place for the first delivery.

Deliveries in other countries should begin soon, with InsideEVs reporting that Mach-E buyers have received emails about the shipping of their vehicles.

Why it’s important: The new Ford CEO, Jim Farley, emphasized the business of growing through electric vehicles. The company has committed $ 11.5 billion to investments in electric vehicles by 2022.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has several models and price points. The Mach-E Premium ER RWD is the first 300-mile electric vehicle from another manufacturer than Tesla Ing (NASDAQ: TSLA).

The vehicle has a price point of $ 45,600 after tax credits. The cheapest Mach-E with a range of 211 miles has a price point of $ 39,195 after tax credits.

The 300-mile Tesla Model Y LR has a price point of $ 61,190. The Tesla Model 3 Perf LR AWD with a range of 315 miles has a price point of $ 56,190.

Ford’s new electric vehicle is the most affordable four-wheel drive, all-electric car and has a similar range to Tesla. This car could quickly become a top seller in the United States and Europe, given its range and price point.

Ford’s new vehicle appears in a holiday ad reuniting the Griswold family with ‘Christmas Holiday’ and ‘Holiday’. Unlike Tesla, Ford is a big spender on advertising and could put more money into advertising campaigns for the vehicle.

F Price action: Shares of Ford rose 0.17% on Tuesday to $ 8.84. Shares have traded at $ 9.45 over the past 52 weeks. Shares traded about $ 6.89 when Farley, the new CEO, took over.
