Disk shortages not only harm your access to CPUs and GPUs, but they also harm the car market. CNBC, ABC News and The edge reports that Ford and Nissan are reducing production due to semiconductor shortages. Ford is driving this week in an SUV factory in Louisville, Kentucky, raising the downturn planned earlier in 2021. Meanwhile, Nissan is reducing its production at its Oppama plant in Japan.
Other brands may also experience problems. Volkswagen said in December that it was changing production in China, Europe and North America in light of the shortage. Fiat Chrysler and Toyota also discussed production issues. Spokesman David Barnas said GM should not reduce production CNBC, but it monitors disk-related issues.
