Foo Fighters carve fifth UK no. 1 with ‘Medicine at Midnight’

Medicine at midnight is Dave Grohl and Co’s fifth UK number 1 album to follow One by one (2002), Echoes, silence, patience and grace (2007), Mors mors (2011) and Concrete and gold (2017).

It is also the best-selling vinyl album, selling 10,500 copies and occupying the top spot in the UK’s official vinyl album chart.

The Weeknd is at number 2 on the national albums The highlights (Republic Records / XO), released to mimic the Canadian R & B singer’s Super Bowl performance on February 7th. This is the most streamed album of the week in the UK

Further on the list is the experimental rock outfit Black Country, New Road at number 4 with their debut album For the first time (Ninja Tune); folk outfit Fleet Foxes’ 2020 album Beach (Anti) displays the card at number 5 after its release in physical formats; and Jessie Ware’s What is your pleasure? (Virgin) returns to the recording on no. 9 after the English singer performed her new single “Remember Where You Are” on the Graham Norton Show.

Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” (Interscope) parks for a fifth consecutive week at the top of the UK singles chart.

The teenage California singer and actor’s power ballad picks up another 59,000 sales on the map, including 7.2 million streams, around Nathan Evans’ “Wellerman” (Polydor) with 220 Kid & Billen Ted, which ranks at no.
