FORECAST SUMMARY
Follow the spotlight on icy rain and chilly snow this afternoon with the 69 News Weather App. You have an interactive radar, fixed in place, right in your hand.

While only a handful of spots this afternoon and tonight get the icy rain, you need to take it seriously when you get it.
Freezing rain causes ice, which makes driving or walking dangerous.
The National Weather Service has winter weather advice for the provinces that will see the most spotty freezing rain.
If you plan to leave this afternoon or evening, regardless of your country, check out the 69 News Weather App’s interactive radar. If you see pink near you or moving towards you, I highly recommend rearranging your plans after it is not icy.
The heavy snow will be on and off this afternoon and evening in the Poconos, North Lehigh Valley (north of the major cities) and north of Reading. The snow amounts to a little more than upholstery, but less than half an inch for the spots it sees.
The freezing ice rain and snow ends at 2 p.m.
We are dry on Sunday.
Then on Monday afternoon we watch more patches of ice rain and patches of snow.
Then we will have a short break from icing on patches and from the snow Monday night around rush hour traffic.
After dinner, the icy rain will become widespread and everyone will accumulate ice on Monday night.
It will still be icy on Tuesday morning during rush hour. Then the icy rain changes later in the morning to ordinary rain as warmer air rises from the south. The rain folds up before dinner on Tuesday. It will not be icy for the evening shuttle on Tuesday.
We create breath Wednesday with sunny skies. Go out in the evening to see Mars next to the crescent moon.
NASA also lands on Mars on Thursday! An off-road vehicle and a small drone helicopter are on their way there while we talk. They were traveling at six months.
On Thursday we see still patches of ice rain in the afternoon and evening, which will cause icy cold for the evening commute. Then the icy rain turns to ordinary rain early Thursday night, because warmer air is rising from the south again. We rain all day later Thursday night and Friday.
Next weekend is dry. We are sunny next Saturday and partly sunny next Sunday.
