Florida officials arrest young women dressed as ‘grandmothers’ to get COVID-19 vaccination

Two women in Florida dressed themselves as elderly women in an attempt to get the COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, several stores reported.

The two women wore disguises consisting of hood, gloves and glasses that appeared older than 65 years, according to the current age requirement for vaccine in Florida, according to The Washington Post.

Their conspiracy failed when workers at the vaccine distribution clinic noticed that the dates of birth on their licenses did not match the information they provided. The women, 44 and 34 years old, were then stopped by authorities.

The body footage from a sheriff’s deputy sheriff’s office in Orange County showed the women being harassed for their efforts.

“You stole a vaccine from someone who needs it more than you,” an officer told the footage shared by WSVN News on Twitter.

The women warned of transgressions and said they would be arrested if they tried to return.

“You have to wait your turn,” another officer may hear in the video. “You are happy that you are not being arrested now.”

Despite being arrested, the woman’s actions appeared to have worked before, as both had tickets from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to verify that they had received their first vaccine doses, reports the Post.

The sheriff of Orange County did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment.
