A Florida golfer drowned in a pond when he went looking for a lost golf ball, authorities said.
According to the sheriff of Pinellas County, Hermilo Jazmines’ body was pulled out of a pond at the Oldsmar Country Club on Sunday by divers.
Deputies said Jazmines, 74, was last seen just after 7:30 a.m. with a friend.
Witnesses told authorities he went looking for his ball near hole three.
His golf cart was discovered he was still parked on the path while his putter lay near the dam, authorities said.
Investigators said they believed Jazmines fell into the water and drowned.
Authorities said his death did not appear to be suspicious, but an autopsy was ordered.
