The Salvadoran fiscal and judicial authorities are initiating the extradition process from the moment of its capture, but it was accepted by Costa Rica in November 2019.

“Senator Guzmán has the right to make use of the legal remedies, which have been passed in the courts of Costa Rica, but he has been informed that the extradition has been authorized,” said Melara.
