“I can not say that I baked all myself,” she said, adding, “I wanted to give everyone a cookie as a small thank you for your service and your family service.”
More than 25,000 national troops have been deployed to help protect the U.S. Capitol for possible security concerns ahead of Biden’s inauguration Wednesday.
The unprecedented precautions ensured that the new US President and Vice President Kamala Harris released their office from an incident during a ceremony outside the US Capitol, two weeks after the day after a mob attacked the building in a failed attempt to to prevent Congress from confirming their victory.

– The floor is yours.
JILL BIDEN: Thank you. I just wanted to come today and say thank you to everyone who kept me and my family safe. And I know you’ve left your home states. The Bidens are a National Guard family. Our son Beau was the national guard of the Delaware Army. He served in Iraq for a year in 2008-2009, so I am a mother of the National Guard.
And when I saw, you know, the wonderful work you did on the inauguration and all that you did, and you left your home states and you came here to protect us, I just wanted to say thank you to President Biden, and of the whole– the whole Biden family.
So the White House baked some chocolate chip cookies for you. I can not say that I baked all myself, but therefore I wanted to give everyone a cookie as just a small thank you for your service and your family service, and everything you have done for our country and it tells you I appreciate you sincerely, all they can do.
– Good. Friends, drop out and close it. We’re going to take a group photo, right?
– Huh. Bring it in.
– Bring it in.
– Bring it in.
JILL BIDEN: Ask him to take another.
– Awesome.
JILL BIDEN: Can we have another one, and she’s going to … I feel I have to come down.
– No, no, no, no.
– And if you want, madam, I can give you my hat or jacket. Poor man kneels down.
