ST. GEORGE – The first discussion slots in February to receive the COVID-19 vaccine opened in southern Utah. In addition, there are now booking slots available for those getting their second injection of the vaccine to complete their vaccination.

Almost all the booking slots for the rest of January were filled within a few hours after it was released by SU Southwest Utah Public Health Department last Monday and technical issues with the department’s website also caused users frustrations.
A health department spokesman said Thursday that the website issues had been resolved.
The slots are available at the links below. There is also a specialized hotline at 435-986-2549, although residents are asked to use the hotline only if they are struggling to go online.
Vaccines are currently available for those aged 70 and over, as well as staff for K-12 teachers, first responders and medical workers.
Separate second-shot clinics are also open to those who received their first vaccine shots on or before January 4th. A second shot is needed to get full immunity to the coronavirus.
