Black widow got a new release date last week and now it has a new “final” trailer. With all the delays of the movie so far, it seems like Marvel does not want to give away much more of the plot, and this latest trailer has some new scenes and lots we’ve already seen.
The trailer begins with a familiar narrative from previous previews of the film. Black Widow talks about how she had a previous life, one from before her time as Avenger. And while previous trailers have focused on people she has known from her previous life, such as Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Alexei Shostakov (David Harbor) and Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz), this is the first time we actually see flashbacks to at Natasha’s childhood, and how far her connection with these characters extends.
Of course, there is also more than just history in the trailer. There’s also our best look at Taskmaster, the apparent villain of the film. Taskmaster is sent to hunt Natasha, and it seems like he can fit every move to her, including fighting in the air on what appears to be a destroyed plane or satellite. The entire rear half of the trailer is filled with action and it looks like Black widow can take us all over the world to finally learn more about Natasha’s past.
As an added bonus, the trailer ends with a fantastic new Russian-inspired version of the Avengers theme.
Black widow has been delayed for more than a year now, but was released on July 9, when it will hit theaters and Disney Plus via Premier Access.
