Final Fantasy 7 Remake was one of the biggest games of 2020, and now it gets an update of 2021. The game is coming to PlayStation 5 – but not only with 4K, 60 frames per second graphics.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, as the update is called, will be launched worldwide on June 10th. It features the original gameplay plus an expansion of sorts, as the trailer featured scenes and gameplay with Yuffie, a popular character in Final Fantasy 7 who did not appear in Remake.

And the best news? If you own the PlayStation 4 version, you can get a free upgrade to Intergrade, including the ‘new episode’ with Yuffie.

Sony premieres new Final Fantasy 7 trailer for PS5

The news is with a trailer at Sony’s State of Play offering, which also included announcements of a new Oddworld game, as well as a deeper look at Deathloop, Kena: Bridge of Spirits and more. It’s also one of the many announcements made by developer Square Enix on Thursday regarding Final Fantasy 7. It also revealed two mobile games: A Battle Royale that took place before the events of Final Fantasy 7, and Ever Crisis, a mobile game that will cover the entire Final Fantasy 7 story, including prequels, sequels and spin-offs .

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is not a true remake of Final Fantasy 7. Rather, it takes the first part of the PS1 game, which takes place in the dystopian city of Midgar, and expands it with great success to its own game. Yuffie originally joined the party after they left Midgar, so she did not appear in last year’s match.

Square Enix is changing things by bringing Yuffie to Midgar so early, as seen in the trailer. The Intergrade sneak peek also featured Weiss, a villain from Final Fantasy 7 sequel Dirge of Cerberus. Even though you completed Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you should know not to expect the Remake project to reflect the original.

Square Enix is ready with Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, with development starting before the launch of Remake last year, but we do not have a time frame for its release. It is also busy with Final Fantasy 16, so the FF supporters among us have a lot to look forward to.
