The NRG recording was released two weeks before ‘Godzilla vs. Kong ‘appears on the big screen. The monster showdown is the chance to reveal a pandemic-best $ 20 million or more, while cinemas reopen in major markets in North America, including LA. in NY

The leading Hollywood exploration company, National Research Group, has been investigating filmgoers weekly since the pandemic began at their comfortable level of returning to theaters.

Thursday of this week was a milestone day.

For the first time since the pandemic paralyzed the theater experience a year ago, those who said they would feel ‘very’ or ‘somewhat’ good about buying a movie ticket achieved a record-high 57 percent.

This is identical to consolation on Sunday, March 15, 2020 – the Sunday before all US cinemas went dark. If this trend continues, overall comfort could exceed 60 percent by the first week of April.

The results came two weeks before the Hollywood tent pole Godzilla teen Kong debuted on the big screen and as movie theaters in Los Angeles and New York City – the country’s two largest film markets – turned on the lights. Godzilla also debuted simultaneously on HBO Max. (NRG does not provide tracking numbers for the film.)

Godzilla teen Kong, from Legendary and Warner Bros., could be a crucial test for the appetite for repairing the box office. To date, the largest opening of the pandemic was Wonder Woman 1984, which was launched at $ 16.7 million over Christmas weekend.

Detection is strong for Godzillawhich prompted some analysts to believe that an opening of $ 20 million or more is feasible.

Studio executives who received the NRG weekly briefing were also encouraged that the ‘very comfortable’ category currently stands at 25 per cent, a pandemic record even before 15 March 2020.

Among those who say they have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 61 percent are somewhat comfortable, while 39 percent are very comfortable.

Along with the increase in convenience, the statistics for film release also improved markedly; 61 percent believe cinemas are very or somewhat safe, a two-point or ore profit from a week ago and a new pandemic record for this measure.

In addition, more consumers are aware of whether their local cinemas are open, or 48 percent, a jump of 6 percent or more than a week ago.

68 percent of the respondents also said that they will see a film in theaters within the next three months. It’s been on a steady trajectory for the past four weeks.
