FEMA Award of $ 3,700 Million for Establishing the AAA Dañadas of El Huracán María

Washington DC – The Federal Agency for Emergency Management (FEMA) has authorized the allocation of $ 3,700 million for the reconstruction of the Installations of Alcantar and Alcantarilladas (AAA) facilities, which were donated by Hurricane Maria, confirmed by the White House.

In a statement, the White House indicates that the total of permanent works needed to repair AAA facilities was calculated at $ 4,100 million. The other $ 400 million, which cost 10% of the cost, will be backed by the Puerto Rican governor.

The funds will be used to “help rebuild the water treatment plants and residual water, bomb stations, reptiles and embassies of Puerto Rico”, according to Casa Blanca.

As well as Governor Pedro Pierluisi as the Washington Commissioner, Jenniffer González, was informed by FEMA’s wife, Peter Gaynor, about the approval by President Donald Trump of the agreement between the federal governor and the governor of Puerto Rico.

“These funds are needed to build a modern and efficient infrastructure for our poor people,” said González.

The $ 3,700 million will be summed up to the $ 11,524 million agreed in September for the permanent repair of the electrical and educational system, according to Hurricane Maria.

The projects are funded through Section 428 which requires the cost of the permanent works to be deducted.

Following the White House, the funds granted by FEMA for the reconstruction of public AAA installations are solely superimposed on antegated buildings to repair structures carried out by Hurricane Katrina, mainly in Louisiana, and New York’s Sandy Torment, New Jersey.

On the 24th, the Executive Director of the Office for the Recovery, Reconstruction and Resilience (COR3, by his English sailors) of Puerto Rico, Ottmar Chávez Piñero, informs that FEMA extensions until the 31st of December this year to read and agree on section 428.

Originally, it seems that these events will take place in October 2019.

In December, González’s commissioner indicated that he had agreed on the AAA assignments and that a series had been announced by Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced and the coordinator of the Casa Blanca for the reconstruction of Puerto Rico, Peter.

Pero, Vázquez Garced finished his duties without hesitation announcing the final agreement on the assignments for the AAA, which the White House now confirms.
