Pedri revealed a conversation with his coach Ronald Koeman a few days after joining Barcelona last summer.
The 18-year-old forward explained that the Barcelona coach admitted that he had not seen him play before, and therefore Pedri had to prove himself in practice to win a place in the starting lineup.
“One day [Koeman] sit me down and tell me that he does not know much about me, that he has barely seen me play and that I will have to show my skills and abilities in training, ” Pedri told AP.
“I was motivated by it. I knew I had to work just as hard to win my place.”
A few months after his arrival, Pedri managed to break in Barcelona begins XI, mainly in midfield.
It looks like the former Las Palmas player has already clicked with the team captain Lionel Messi and he is undoubtedly one of the breakthrough players this season in LaLiga Santander.
A big fan of Andres Iniesta, 18 years old Pedri still has room for improvement at Barcelona.
