Victor Font feels that the arrest of former president Josep Maria Bartomeu harms the image of Barcelona.
Bartomeu was arrested for his role in ‘Barcagateand the presidential hope that the only solution is serious change in the right direction.
“This is a very sad day for Barcelona. Given the suspicion of innocence, events such as today seriously damage the institutional image of the club,” Font said.
“We have been saying for a long time that the model that has served so far is no longer working. It is essential to make a change and have a club that is much more transparent, in which the representative bodies are truly independent of who is in charge. and that the control mechanisms work.
“Only with this change will we ensure that these types of situations do not happen again in future,” he concluded.
