Fantasian, World of Demons, and a bunch of other games hit Apple Arcade today

Time to burn battery life

Fantastic, the new dioramic RPG from Final fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, introduced at Apple Arcade. But as it turns out, it was not the only game that came to service.

Apple announced today that more than thirty games are coming to the subscription service, spreading over new games and old classics. In addition to the new original products, Apple has introduced two new categories: Timeless Classics and App Store Greats.

The Classics division has some long-standing standards: for example, a chess and backgammon app, as well as the fairly solid Good Sudoku by Zach Gage. App Store Greats has meanwhile unlocked a number of mobile classic ad-free and complete, including Fruit Ninja Classic, Mini Metro, en Threes!, who is personally responsible for many lost hours.

A big surprise is PlatinumGames World of DemonsThe action-mobile game first shown in 2018 that later quietly disappeared has slipped onto the Apple Arcade list. It has been very striking, Okami-painted footage for his story of samurai and yokai.

And of course there is Fantastic, which has a very interesting combat system that allows you to deposit monsters in a pocket dimension and fight them all at once. On top of that, it has a bunch of miniatures and dioramas that look really nice.

As an Android owner, I’m admittedly a little jealous. Hopefully Fantastic makes its way to other services like some of the other Arcade hits like Grindstone has. Check out the Apple blog for the full list of games available to the service, including some surprises like Taiko no Tatsujin: Pop Tap Beat and the sweep RPG Prevail.
