Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 Discover Morbid MythBusters Easter Egg

Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 are discovering a corpse on the outskirts of Night City, one that looks striking with Adam Savage of MythBusters.

Some eagle eyes Cyberpunk 2077 players have discovered a possible call to the beloved program Discovery Channel Mythbusters. The dilapidated world of Night City is home to many such Easter eggs, either as a nod to other popular video games, or as a soft message for fans to be patient in the aftermath of Cyberpunk 2077’s infamous disturbing launch last year.

Players can get a minifigure of Mortal Kombatresident dead ninja Scorpion at the end of a certain side question to spice up V’s apartment, or to locate Siri from The Witcher 3 (which was also developed by Cyberpunk 2077’s CD Project Red) in a drawer as you play through the Corpo life path. They may even notice real figures like Elon Musk or legendary Dead Stranding creator Hideo Kojima enjoys the nightlife in Night City, but it seems like another gas como is not doing so well in the grim world of Cyberpunk 2077.

As reported by Game Rant yesterday, Cyberpunk 2077 players noticed that an irradiated corpse lay in a garbage dump on the outskirts of Rancho Coronado, which looked like Mythbusters alumnus Adam Savage. A nearby storyteller describes the deceased as Steven Hurt, the host of a TV show that tests ancient myths and urban legends – just like Mythbusters. Indeed, Hurt’s body lying near a refrigerator, and the presence of a certain iconic fedora hat, apparently indicate that he was the infamous refrigerator-nuking scene from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

While the Mythbusters the crew never tested the controversial refrigerator (which Indy survived an atomic explosion by hiding in a refrigerator) on their show, they did done has staged several film scenes and popular urban legends on The Discovery Channel for 14 seasons before ending its successful run in 2016. The program will be revived next year as the short-lived reality series Mythbusters: The Search, although without Savage’s involvement.
