In 1978, Stephen King wrote “The Stand” (“The Dance of Death”), a short story about a post-apocalyptic world, giving only five cents to the population of his letter to a pandemic. ¿Les suena? Coarent and two years after its publication, and three failed intentions, this novella has been transformed into a Starz Play mano television miniseries, which will be aired every 3 months (translated in Spain as “Apocalypse”). With a single replica of stars, “The Stand” is protagonist by Whoopi Goldberg, Alexander Skarsgård, Greg Kinnear, James Marsden in one of the actresses of the moment, Amber Heard, who interprets the character of Nadine Cross.
For the sake of interpretation, 2020 has been a year of terrible, no only due to the pandemic that limited its work, due to the war that is taking place in the judiciary with its ex-wife, actor Johnny Depp. The result is that the actress has been converted into one of the most talked about stars in the social media for her relationship with her. Hecho, this week, his interview published on YouTube received 280,000 “I do not like”, and a movement organized by fans of the actor. Without embarrassment, she has a positive attitude, encouraging the promotion of “The Stand” – one of her favorite books -, and has not allowed the adversity even, therefore, not allowed in the interview any type of question about her ex.
In full pandemia estrena «The Stand». Are you planning?
No, absolutely. Grabamos la series antes de que ocurriera la pandemia; and has four days that we will finish when the decision-making authorities enter. Fue impact. Our history is based on a global pandemic that strikes the Mayor of the planet’s population. The consequences are the best and most powerful of the human beings, a final battle for the survival of our species. It is not only about sobrevivir, it means to create a new society that will master the best of being human. The surprising thing is that the series, which has been in the process of emitting for years, is just right at these moments.
Is it true that you admire the novel and how long will it take for its character?
Sí. I love this book since it was a niece. It has always meant a lot to me because it was a great solitaire, rare, incomprehensible. In these years, the books are my friends and they are still standing for a long time. “The Stand” has a very special place in my heart. When I got to know Josh Boone, who wrote the adaptation of the series 10 years ago, we did a lot about the novel. In my career he learned many things, and one of them I always trust in the “freaks” of the genus when dealing with terror, fantasy or science fiction. Josh is a super “freak” who loves this material, and I’ve been hoping that I’m lame for the character since the studio approved the production of the novel’s adaptation.
Nadine’s character is iconic What was his activity at the time of interpretation?
Stephen King has the ability to retrieve a brilliant story, giving the characters that live in it not represent the well or the bad as ideas or general concepts. What makes Nadine interesting is her complexity. An artificially worn female and elegantly hubiéramos represent from a fantastic perspective. Dicho esto, ella es una seductora.
Have you created the seducers …
Life is the most important thing if we agree on the seducers and we will justify what we identify with this archetype. A seductor can also be vulnerable, seduction and vulnerability without being exclusive. It does not matter if you want to be able to forgive yourself for not being able to justify yourself as a seductive person. Nadine is like a seductress as a sovereign. And she is very ambitious, but she succeeds in being human. To all our quests we will find love, because society can not be lovable, our aisle, but we have to fight against the alienation we try to separate.
Alexander Skarsgård is a great devil …
It’s perfect for this character. When you see, you know that no one else can interpret this paper. Represents the demon that we live in, that acts on the path of the most powerful impulses, not from the sense of selfishness. Creo que is un papel con el que todos debemos ididentarnos. The King’s book is a battle between the good and the bad, between the best and the only one who lives among the human beings; the gap between our defects and our virtues is the tragedy of the tram and what makes the characters sean tan dynamic.
Mera in “Aquaman” and Nadine in “The Stand” are very different, because they have a dislike for ambiguous characters.
His mujeres totally different. I believe that the public sees me as a female villain and does not know why. “Aquaman” is an escape for me, because it can be interpreted firstly as a woman who does not use her feminine forms to conjure up the forces of evil (she laughs). Nadine is a character with a lot of psychological baggage. Need a lot of preparation, frankly; I studied how to deal with the people when they were being treated, and Nadine’s journey led me to understand the people who lived in the sections.
Nadine shows herself as a character capable of predicting the future. ¿Cree usted en el destino?
Do not believe in anything that is not proven or what it is capable of entending, but believe that it is important to record that Nadine lives in the world of Stephen King; hyperrealist and surrealist.
If you want to balance 2020, What will happen?
It has a difficult year for everything, but to adapt it has to adapt. As we evolve as human beings, we have the most potential for sovereignty and prosperity in life.
